Personal Life
Prukchanon Thongchay (born Thanadach Sriracha) was born on April 21, 2006, at Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital in Prachinburi Province.
He later changed his surname to “Thongchay” after being adopted by his maternal grandmother. His birth name was “Thanadet,” but it was changed to “Prukchanon” based on a fortune-teller’s advice. The name means “a great tree of happiness and stability.” He also has a Chinese name, Li Chengcheng ().
Prukchanon is the adopted son of Kanokorn Thongchay (his biological grandmother) and Wanchai Thongchay, both of whom are of Thai Chinese descent. Kanokorn is a businesswoman, while Wanchai is an employee of the State Railway of Thailand. He previously worked in Prachinburi Province before being transferred to Laem Chabang Port in Rayong Province, later to Si Racha Municipality in Chonburi Province, and eventually back to his hometown in Prachantakham District, Prachinburi Province.
Prukchanon is of Chinese–Taiwanese–Hainanese descent. His biological mother is a Thai Chinese woman and Kanokorn’s daughter, while his biological father is a Thai man from Dong Phra Ram Municipality, Prachinburi Province. His mother gave birth to him at the age of 18.
His original nickname, “Ahfong” (อาฟง), was given by his biological father. However, since it was somewhat difficult to pronounce, it was often shortened to “Avo” or “Wo”, meaning “something above the ocean.” During childhood, he was also known by several nicknames such as “Junior,” “Baseball,” “Chengcheng,” “Ah Cheng,” and “Court.”
He grew up in Prachantakham District, Prachinburi Province, in a Chinese family household. He was especially close to his adoptive parents, Kanokorn and Wanchai, even after learning the truth about his biological roots. He is also distantly related to actor Bom Thana Iamniyom.
His biological mother later had three more children:
*Kannika Klinchanhom (born 2008)
*Phiphatphong Jaidee (born 2018)
*Jiratha Jaidee (born 2019)
Prukchanon has spoken openly about the differences in parenting styles between his adoptive parents. He described being closest to his adoptive mother, Kanokorn, as they talked regularly and stayed in contact every day. She took care of his meals and health, rarely scolded him, and often showed affection. His adoptive father, Wanchai, on the other hand, tended to advise him on future plans, careers, and life decisions—he was permissive but not very expressive emotionally.
Prukchanon revealed that his biological parents separated when he was very young, and he never met his biological father. He began to question his origins during kindergarten and eventually, in Grade 8, after being teased by classmates for not resembling his adoptive parents, he confronted his grandmother, who told him the truth. He accepted it with understanding and continued to love and respect his adoptive parents deeply.
At the age of 17, he reconnected with his paternal relatives and finally met his biological father, Phosri Sriracha, for the first time. His biological mother, Maneeporn Maha-amnat, had already passed away. He expressed that he was happy to learn about his real family roots, calling it an important step toward understanding himself better.
Prukchanon added,

Prukchanon’s Path in the Industry
Ahfong – Prukchanon Thongchay began his journey in the entertainment industry from a young age, driven by his passion for art, singing, and acting. During his school years, he frequently participated in stage activities such as short plays, singing contests, and dance performances, which helped him build confidence and develop his performance and communication skills.
During his early secondary school years, Ahfong began attending casting calls for commercials and small-scale drama projects in Bangkok. He made his first on-screen appearance as a supporting actor in the television drama Duang Jai Nai Fai Nhao (“Hearts in the Winter Fire”) on Channel 3 in 2017, marking his official debut in the acting industry.
Although his initial roles were relatively minor, Ahfong received praise from directors and crew members for his dedication and positive working attitude. This led to continued opportunities in later productions, including Fai Himma (Channel 7) and Krong Karm (Channel 3), gradually earning him recognition as a promising young actor.
In later interviews, Ahfong described acting as “an art of emotional communication,” believing that every role is an opportunity to learn about different perspectives and human experiences. This philosophy has inspired him to continue growing and refining his craft in the performing arts.
Following his acting work, Prukchanon began pursuing a career as an independent artist under the name PRUKCHANON, debuting with the mini-album AHFONG. The album attracted attention among indie pop and dream pop listeners for its soft yet melancholic sound and introspective tone.
